Made in two 59-min parts as episodes 16 & 17 in the Great Liners series. Founded in 1837, many books have been written chronicling the history of the great Company. But never before has there been a moving image record to show us just what it was like to have worked and sailed aboard P&O passengers liners and cargo ships from the turn of the last Century right through to modern times. These ships carried cargo and millions of passengers to every far corner of the world - to emigrate, to romance, to exotic destinations and to war. Many were lost by enemy action, and thousands of crewmembers laid down their lives for thier country.
